Rehabilitation of Public Infrastructure in Sofala Province

In the wake of Cyclone Idai’s devastation, GWIC, as part of a consortium, undertook a pivotal project to restore 37 public buildings and markets in Sofala Province. Our services included in-depth technical surveys, damage assessments, resilient design proposals, and tender preparation, along with overseeing the reconstruction process. This project was guided by the Build Back Better (BBB) principles, ensuring that the rehabilitated structures are not only restored but also strengthened to endure future natural disasters. Funded by the World Bank, this initiative highlights GWIC’s expertise in disaster recovery and resilient infrastructure design.
