GWIC provided comprehensive Construction Supervision and Engineering Design for an ambitious irrigation project in Angola, funded by the World Bank. This project focused on rehabilitating and developing smallholder irrigation systems to empower approximately 30 farming operations across a total area of 1,000 hectares, directly benefiting around 2,000 farmers. Spanning the provinces of Bié, Huambo, and Malanje, GWIC’s role encompassed everything from initial assessments and detailed design to the supervision of construction. By providing irrigation to roughly 1,000 hectares, each farmer, on average, gained access to 0.5 hectares of irrigated land, significantly boosting agricultural productivity and food security in the region.
